Farm Load | Day 209 of 365

When you live in farm country, it's not unusual for a bit of the farm to show up at a Wednesday-night church service with the farmer.

A young friend of mine catches up on her Bible study after arriving early to a meeting.

Peaches | Day 207 of 365

Peaches on my grandparents' trees. There has't been an abundance this year, but we have certainly enjoyed all the fruit there has been.

Arrow | Day 206 of 365

This silver arrow ring is not just a fashion statement, it's a symbol - a prayer reminder.

Dog | Day 205 of 365

Went with my Dad this morning to pick figs at a friend's house. His 'guard' dog isn't very good - more like a 'welcoming committee'.

Quilting Bee | Day 204 of 365

Had some family over today for a visit and an old-fashioned quilting bee. Didn't get the quilt finished, but still had a great time of fellowship.

Window Washing | Day 203 of 365

Perfect weather for washing windows today - nice and warm, but not too hot - so my sister and I spent part of the afternoon washing our grandparents'.

Rainy Day Reflection | Day 202 of 365

We had a good bit of rain yesterday. When I got up this morning, there were puddles in the driveway, and the rising sun was just a white circle through the gray mist.

Went with my Mom, sister, an aunt, and two cousins to a fabric shop for one of the cousins to pick out material for a quilt.

The Little Hungarian Couple | Day 199 of 365

One of my missionary uncles and his family brought this salt-and-pepper shaker set to my grandmother from their travels. They stand cheerfully in the kitchen window day after day, calmly surveying meal preparations and dish-washing techniques. It doesn't seem hard to imagine them discussing what they have witnessed, after the humans have walked away.

Pink 'Surprise' Lily | Day 198 of 365

Mom calls these flowers 'surprise lilies'. Weeks after the tall leaf blades have withered, died, and you've forgotten there was anything planted there, the flower pops up almost overnight. Ours are a beautiful soft pink color.

Tea Party | Day 197 of 365

Mom, my sister, and I went to Mom's cousin's house this morning for a brunch the cousin's grown children were hosting in honor of their mother's birthday. It was delightful.

Church Bell | Day 196 of 365

This one is not used anymore, but even just the idea of a church having a bell appeals to me in a very definite way.

Lunch | Day 194 of 365

For lunch today, we had hamburgers Dad grilled. If he went into business, McDonald's would go out.

Travel the Globe | Day 193 of 365

Is there anyone not fascinated with the idea of travel?
For my part? Scotland.

Red Shoes | Day 192 of 365

My sister sat down and played the piano a little bit after lunch, and when I walked through the room later, I found the shoes she'd worn to church there where she'd kicked them off.

Tiny Tree Frog | Day 191 of 365

One of my cousins found this dime-sized little frog and called me outside because, "I knew you'd want to take a picture of it!"

Lightning | Day 189 of 365

Granted, it's not hugely impressive, but it's the first lightning photograph I've ever captured, and it made me ridiculously happy.

Fried Corn | Day 187 of 365

Ever had fried corn-on-the-cob? If not, you are missing out on a treat!

Save A Life - Donate Blood | Day 186 of 365

I have been blessed to be able to donate blood many times. Not only is there the rewarding knowledge that a person's life could be saved by it, but it has also been shown to be personally healthful for adults to donate three times a year.
The church down the road from where I live was having a drive this afternoon, so my visiting uncle and aunt and I went.
